Historic Scott-Heim Barn -

Special Events Venue

I was project manager for the design/restoration of a historic barn built in the 1770’s in Montoursville, PA.  The client wanted to adapt the historic structure into a special event facility with a catering kitchen on the lower level.

The barn is listed as a historic property and therefore was an extreme challenge with codes through the entire process due to trying to change the use of the property and retain as much of the historic character of the building as possible.

Due to the code issues and financial considerations this project went through many revisions.  I was responsible for all code investigations, creating all construction drawings, as well as working with the contractor throughout construction to solve problems as they arose.  Project was completed in July 2015. Program used was AutoCAD.

All photographs of the complete project were taken by the owner.
